Hello All!
So, I've been told that I needed to update this from a few people. For those of you that read my blog...sorry it's been so long. With the holidays passing and all, I didn't have as much as you all to talk about...just the same old thing. I guess FOB Scania (a regular stop up north) did a ball drop for the New Years...I think I was at Baghdad International Airport (a base) fueling up my humvee when it turned midnight...I'm not sure...I didn't even think about it until the next day. It just goes to show how much it all meant to me this year!
Anywho...life has been good, I'm staying especially busy with convoys right now...the busier I am, the faster the time goes. Being gone anywhere from a week to two weeks makes the time go by really quickly.
Faith and I are SO excited for Italy. I get my leave in March and we've decided to to do two weeks throughout Italy in that time. My cousin Randy and his new wife Erin are going to be meeting us halfway through...so they're pretty excited too. That's the big focus right now...get to leave...then it's downhill from there. Can't comment on the whole thing with increased soldiers over here cause I don't know. I'll know if they tell me they're extending us...and probably not until then!
I hope all is well for everyone back home, take care of yourselves.
Jake

Jake,
Greaqt to hear from you. I know Faith is really excited about the trip and I hope you guys have a great time and well deserved time together. The holidays were good. My girls got so many toys that we had to give some of their old toys to charity. My house (you know how big it is) has toys in every single room. They are over running my entire home.
We have not found out what the baby is yet but hope to by Mid February. I will definetly post what it is so you know. I think the name needs to be either Hewlett or Packard or Justin. (you know why). I have now offically got the nursery reset up and the girls are loving what they call their Bunky beds.
Chloe talks about you often and wonders when she gets to see her best friend Jake again. I tell her that he is away for a while fighting for you and me and that makes her happy. She says she can not wait to see you again. You and I both know that when she does see you though she will be shy at first as normal.
Anyway I better work now. Great to see you post and glad you are staying busy. Stay Safe!!
Ray
Jake-was wondering what your timetable was this weekend and how you are doing. I was sitting at the Bear's victory thinking about the juxtaposition of us in Chicago cheering for da Bears while you were in your humvee somewhere in the middle of Iraq. It doesn't seem right for life to be so normal here while you are risking yours for us as we watch a football game. I hope you are doing well. I hope you and Faith have a wonderful time while she is visiting you in Italy.
Well my brother, It's been too long since we've communicated. I will tell you that not a day goes by that someone out the corner of my eye doesn't remind me of my friend Jake.
I can't even begin to tell you all the new things going on at "the dub" and surely you've got a million stories too. Topping the list for me has been brother Sean's decision to join the Navy. He reports on May 1 down in AZ. I was hoping that Sean would be the only brother overseas but Colin leaves for his 2nd run int o Japan on May 4th. (Hopefully Mom finds a hobby with all the free-time she'll have!)
Anyways...I know that you've heard it a million times but hurry home as I have some lunch-boxes waiting stateside with your name on them my brother!
