Happy Saturday Everyone!
I received a picture from my cousin up in Northern Wisconsin and it looks like the trees are starting to turn up in the northwoods! I'm sure it awesome up there right now....both green and colorful.
Over here, it's still dry, sandy, and generally brown/tan looking! Tbe color really hasn't changed to much as we move into fall. The fly season is upon us, then we move into the rainy season, then chilly season, then rainy season again, then fly season, then hot season all over....THEN I get to come home! I've realized there isn't to much of the "fall/spring/winter" seasons over here. As you can tell, I'm in a sarcastic mood today.
It's funny over here. Your conversations start to turn away from the obvious things you miss (i.e. your wife, kids, family, etc.) to the not so obvious. We were talking about our favorite restaurants and of course Tsu Kasa, Green Basil, and Wildfire were my topics of discussion. Garlic Shrimp, horseradish encrusted Filet...yum! Now that I'm hungry for steak and shrimp at 9:50 in the morning, I'll leave that topic alone.
We do talk about deer hunting though and how much the hunters over here are going to miss it. This will be the first time since I was 12 years old that I'll have missed an opening weekend of deer hunting; the case with MANY of the hunters over here. For those hunters out there who are getting "buck fever" this time of year back in WI...it still happens in the sandbox (I think it's in my blood now).
As far as what's going on over here, not much. The Holy month of Ramadan is kicking in high gear in a couple of days, which means the activity of insurgent attacks increases supposedly, we'll see...nothing to worry about 'til it happens.
Well, just wanted to drop a line to everyone and say hello! Take care and talk to you all soon! (I've been here for 2 months and 4 days - 300 days left)

You need to update again son!!!I can't get on this at school and you know what the notebook has been doing--It's Sunday and Faith just told me that your back at your "home" so I'm very glad to hear this!!! Besafe and Love you Mom
Long time no talk, just thought I should say hi to let you know that you're not forgotten :) Hope you're taking care and ducking low! I'm reading up on general first aid care, the do's and don't's of emergencies, etc. I was going to school for a minute there for Psychology (more specifically art theraphy) but seemed like the very cosmos was against it, so I'm being forced to dropped out for a bit. Sucks b/c I was actually getting paid to go to college (one of the few perks of being a single mom with 2 kids)but I'm keeping busy with lots and lots of books! (yes I know I'm a total nerd haha). But you know what they say about idle hands and an idle brain...although I'm pretty sure my mom thinks I'm stuck on idle! lol either way, I love reading the blog and knowing that you're ok. shoot me an email if you ever get bored, you know the cdw address :) Take care!

Hey Jake,
Not much new with me. Your dad had a great week bowling a couple weeks back. He had three games over 200+ (600+ series.) We had to do some contrustion work at the bowling alley so he could get out the door when he was leaving...with the big head by the end of the night (just kidding).
I lead a very boring live which is okay sometimes.
Hope all is well with you. Sounds like Faith is doing well.
Here is a little funny for you.
The Bathtub Test
It doesn't hurt to take a hard look at yourself from time to time,
and this should help get you started.
During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be nstitutionalized.
"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to
the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the visitor.
"A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."
"No." said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
PS: I failed the test and had to take a bed near the window. HA HA.
Take care and be safe!
