Another quick post!
I'm on my way back from a long mission up into Baghdad right now. While up there, we went to Sadam's Al Faw Palace! It's located near Baghdad International Airport (BIAP)...it was VERY interesting to see. I took a ton of pictures which I'll load up into Shutterfly and share when I get back to my home Camp.
There were so many beautiful Chandeliers, glossy marble tile, engraved pillars, fresco ceilings...it was very, very interesting and grand! When you see the pictures, you'll notice the lake surrounding it and the bridge that the Army blew-up to block an escape route. There's a balcony that you can stand on and see a ton of Baghdad from. I'm very glad that I got to tour it for a little while between missions. I'm sure you'll enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
Well, just wanted to throw up a quick post! Have a great November....8 months and 2 weeks til I get home!
Jake

Hi Jake---So you got to see how the rich ruler of Iraq lived--now you know why he isn't the ruler anymore. He spent too much money! LOL Just kidding. Can't wait to see the pictures. My IM is on if I'm at home so if you get on line give me a holler.
Love you,
Mom
The palace sounds amazing...look forward to those pictures! Stay safe Jake!

Stay safe. We will talk soon.

Hey Jake--So you got to see where the previous #1 guy lived. You're mom's right, he shouldn't have spent so much money on himself!!(LOL) Can't wait to see the pictures. Now I'm going to make a comment that will "show my age"! How wonderful to have such instant communications. When your Uncle Jr went to Nam in the mid 60s, the only way I had to communicate with him was by mail so the info in the letters was pretty old by the time I walked to the mailbox which was 6 miles away!!! Love, Aunt Linda
Hi Jake!
I'll bug Faith for the pix, sounds pretty cool.
Wow, only 8 months left to go, I keep telling Faith that it'll fly by fast!
Take care and i'll be looking forward to your next post!
