Hello Everyone!

It's been almost two months since arriving overseas now. Time is moving along fairly well. When on missions, time flys by; when not, time drags! I did take a trip up to Northern Iraq a week ago; it was a lot different than Central and Sourthern Iraq. We went to a small town called Kirkut. The FOB (forward operating base) that we were going to was located just inside the town so we had to go through it. It's interesting, the people were waving at us and giving us the upmost respect, not the same as in the south by any means. Not sure home many people live in the town, but there are a TON of oil fields up there. The Kurds mainly populate the area, and it seems they take care of their property a little bit better. It might have looked nicer because there were actually trees and grass growing, something you don't see down in Kuwait.

Not much else is going on right now. Our internet works slowly, so it's a pain to load pictures into. I am still working on loading pictures from that last trip into Shutterfly to send out to everyone. Once I do, I think I've got some good ones for you to see. I hope this post finds everyone in great health!

All of you take care and I'll see you in about 10 months and 1 week!

Jake

Hey Jake,
I can't believe that you have been over there that long! I hope you are having a great experience but still being very safe. I am at college now and having a great time! I look forward to reading another post very soon. Take care!

Jackson,

Do people have pets in Iraq? You don't ever see on the news or hear about them...are dogs/cats scarce over the? Just a question...
Aside from that, nothing new and exciting...hope all is well and can't wait to see you back in the good ole US of A...

Always glad to see your new posts. I look for them weekly and when I don't see a new one I worry about you. Course thats the way I am. Do I have to go to your email to see your pictures? It must be quite interesting to see how that part of the country lives.
Take care and I love you.
