Good Evening Everyone!
Well...ok, it's 9:51pm here, and 1:51 there, so it's evening for me!
We're now where we'll be stationed for the next year. The Camp is nice. We've got a Gym, a small PX, Pizza Inn, Subway, Green Beans Coffee House, and an awesome Chow Hall. You'll think this is funny, but we've got real toilets that are actually AIR CONDITIONED! Most of you will never know the wonderful comfort of using a port-o-john in 130 degree heat...not exactly cool (oh-the smell sucks too!).
The medics have had the opportunity to have a lot of question/answer sessions with the medics we're replacing, so we're learning a TON of new trauma treatments.
Not sure if you've all heard, but my Company lost our first soldier on Monday. Specialist Castner was a great guy. I didn't know him extrememly well, but I still new him. I'd treated him a couple of times at Camp Shelby as a medic and got to know him a little better while doing that. Three other guys (two from our Company and one from the Company we're replacing) were hit too. I know the two from my Company will recover. I can't talk about the rest to much.
Anyways, I hadn't posted anything new in a week, so I though it might be time! I'll actually get WIRELESS INTERNET in my tent in a week, so I'll be able to stay in touch a little bit better with the e-mails. It won't be as slow as dial up, but won't be Roadrunner either. What can you expect though :)!
You all take care, I can't wait to hear all of YOUR stories when I get back in a year!
Jake

Sounds like things are going well for you. We are so glad for you that your mission has started and you are on your way to getting through the year to come.

Jake, I good to hear from you and good to know things are going rather well. I just got home from working in the hot warehouse, at least I thought it was hot but right now would think it was cool. I'm heading up to the cabin this weekend to play some golf with some of my buddies and my dad, a GUYS weekend, I will have a beer for you and try to play like you taught me to. Talk to ya soon

Jake,
Well, I am not sure how to do this. So, we will see if this works or not.
Glad to hear everything is going well for you. You are in my prayers and thoughts daily along with everyone else.
Not much new here. Planning on getting together with your mom and dad some day soon. Will have a beer or two for you.
Take care, and as you mom said, cover your butt. --- BJS :)

Hey Boy, I'm so glad Faith told me about your blog. I'll visit it often. I'm glad to hear you are doing well. It's funny, everyday when I pass Tacos el Norte, I think of you and Faith and say a prayer for you guys. Keep yourself safe and keep the notes coming. :o)
Miss ya tons!!!!

Ok Boy where are you? Dad said you were building a deck or something, around your tent? Sounds like you are making it a home. I can picture you like the folks in South Carolina, leaning back in your rocking chair, chewing on a piece of wheat, spitting into your spitoon with blood hound at your feet. :) Anyway, hope all is well. Is it still like 130 degrees? Does Kuwait have four season, or two like South Carolina? Maybe it only has one, HOT AS HELL.
I just wanted to tell you were thinking about you, Sefton says hi.
Love you lots, stay safe.
Darcey
