So, I'm here!
It's been 10 days at Camp Shelby so far. I'm not really enjoying myself though, go figure! I'm still working on getting access to the internet where I can load pictures on to my blog. I've got a few from this adventure so far, when I have an opportunity, I'll be sure to post them somewhere.
It's funny down here, everything is so bitter sweet. For example, I'm writing an e-mail with a rifle over my shoulder and a 9mm on my side, which is weird mainly because it's a serious pain in the butt, but I'd much rather have it than not!
Anyways, I'm actually on a Post Office mission right now, so I'm not supposed to even be at the internet cafe. I'll continue to post more as I have more time.
Take care everyone, we'll all chat again soon!
Jake

Nice to hear that you're heavily armed. When does the military supply you with weapons? (Then you'll be typing with an M16, rocket lanucher, 9mm, and 45, right?)

Hey Dude. Smoke breaks aren't the same without you. Guess I'll just have to quit. Who am I kidding - nobody likes a quitter.
Jake, since your departure CDW has gone to some lengths to make sure you will feel right at home when you get back so we now have sand dunes in the stairways, scorpions under our keyboards, and the receptionist desk is now the gun cage...no waiting period, just pick it up and it's yours. It's tough to adjust to, but people have really started speaking their minds now that they have an AK-47 strapped to their back...productivity is through the roof!!
Take care buddy and we'll see you in almost 15!!

Hi Jake,
I didn't realize you had a blog, but it's been great to read all your entries and to hear that you're okay! We're all thinking about you and look forward to your return in 8 months! Take care of yourself!!!
